✨ Spiritual and Symbolic Significance in the Bible

1. Light as a Symbol of God’s Presence

   • Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

     • God’s Word gives guidance and illumination, just as a lamp lights the way in the dark.

2. Preparation and Watchfulness

   • Matthew 25:1–13 – The Parable of the Ten Virgins

     • Jesus tells a story of ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom, five wise (who brought oil) and five foolish (who did not).

     • The oil lamp symbolizes spiritual readiness. Having oil represents being prepared for Christ’s return.

3. Holy Living and Testimony

   • Matthew 5:14–16 – “You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others.”

     • Just like a lamp gives light in darkness, believers are to shine with good works and faith, pointing others to God.

4. The Anointing and Presence of the Holy Spirit

   • Oil is often symbolic of the Holy Spirit, and keeping your lamp full of oil can be interpreted as staying filled with the Spirit and walking in His power.
